The Department of Communications has identified 1600 schools to pilot Connectivity Plan in the Proof of Concept (PoC) schools in the North West, Mpumalanga, Free State and Eastern Cape provinces. The programme aims to expose 150 unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 35 to the work enviroment as technical support to the schools.

The programme will be implemented for a period of 12 months in the 2012 / 13 financial year. Participating in the programme will be voluntary, however, the participants will be paid a stipend for refreshments.
