The Presidential National Commission on Information Society and Development (PNC on ISAD) is responsible for ensuring that:

The PNC on ISAD has identified e-Education as a priority area in the building of an inclusive Information Society. The function of the e-Education sector is to:

• Investigate the use of e-Education in the country

• To evaluate e-Education related policies, projects and progammes

• Supports e-Education government initiatives and

• Facilitate the coordinated and integrated implimentation of e-Education

The implimentation of the ICT in South African schools has been that of fragmentation and uncoordinated nature. In most cases, these initiatives were driven by the corporate, parastatals, non-international development agencies. The PNC on ISAD should assist coordinating appropriate governments departments and relevant stakeholders to support the implementation plan of the Department of Education.
